Central City News: Dragons' burning ambition; CHINESE QUARTER.

WATCH out for dragons in Birmingham city centre on Sunday as Chinese New Year celebrations kick off in the Arcadian Centre.

The traditional Dragon Dance, which starts at noon, also launches a year of China-themed activities in Birmingham in honour of this year's Beijing Olympics. Three major Chinese exhibitions are coming to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery as part of the national China Now celebrations for the Olympic year.

Displays will feature ceramics, historic photographs and contemporary art.

Aspects of China is the first permanent display of Chinese art in the city with, more than 50 pieces of historic ceramics.
