Censor Board to be established in KP soon: Farman.
This he said in a press statement issued on Friday. He said before 18th Constitutional Amendment according to the motion picture Ordinance 1979, permission from Federal Censor Board was must for exhibiting the films on the cinemas of the province but after the 18th amendment, the same power had been allotted the two provinces.
Farman said that in-line with the new law, the province would monitor the films and CD dramas being prepared in the province. He said the Censor Board would comprise four members and after promulgating of the law, a certificate from censor board would be compulsory before exhibiting films and CD dramas.
He said that the censor board would ensure that the films or CD dramas were neither against Islam and culture nor they had any vulgarity, violence or objectionable material. He made it clear that unless the new bill was promulgated, permission under Motion Picture Ordinance 1979 from the Federal Censor Board would be compulsory for exhibiting films in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
