Celebs asked to plan funeral for TV.

A NEW TV series will give celebrities the chance to plan their own funerals, it was reported today.

Guests on Channel 5's It's Your Funeral will choose the ceremony, outfit, flowers and mourners they would like for their final send-off.

Celebrities already lined up to take part include actor Brian Blessed, chef Gordon Ramsay, Birds of a Feather star Lesley Joseph and feminist academic Germaine Greer.

The weekly show, hosted by Kaye Adams, will encourage guests to bring along objects with which they would like to be buried, according to the Daily Express.

Brian Blessed, who has a passion for mountaineering, would like to be buried alongside his climbing gear, the programme reveals.

Other guests include former punk star Toyah Willcox, Rabbi Julia Neuberger and racing trainer Jenny Pitman.

"This series is a serious, insightful look at an issue we all have to contemplate," said Nick Wilson, controller of children's and religious programming.

The 13-part series begins in January.
