Celebrations to mark National Day.

NATIONWIDE celebrations have been lined up to mark His Majesty King Hamad's Accession to the Throne and Bahrain's 40th National Day, which falls tomorrow. The five governorates are gearing up for a wide variety of activities including firework displays, folk bands, family festivities and even an air display.

Among the major highlights is the Aerobatics Air Show in Muharraq, during which stunt pilots from The Champions Aerobatic Show (TCAS) will take to the skies for one-hour shows at Busaiteen beach tomorrow and on Saturday.

Activities that have been lined up include:

Today: Fireworks, Hananiya Park (8pm)

National Carnival "Eid Biladi" (my country's festivities), Hananiya Park (3-9pm)

Capital Governorate national staff celebrations with Bahraini poet Shaikha Lulwa bint Khalifa bin Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa (9am)

National Festival, folk band, children's band performances at the Al Fateh Cornich (4pm)

Tomorrow: Aerobatics Air Show, Busaiteen beach (3pm)

National Festival "Civil Aviation Festival in Love of Bahrain", traditional bazaar, face painting, henna, games, children's zone, Arad Bay (4pm)

Wihda Wahda (Let's Unite) festival, Adhari Park, 4pm to 10pm

Saturday: Aerobatics Air Show, Busaiteen beach (3pm)

National "Civil Aviation Festival in Love of Bahrain", traditional bazaar, face painting, henna, games, children's zone, Arad Bay (4pm)

National Festival with arda dancing, Interior Ministry music band and children's shows at Estiqlal Walkway (3.30pm)
