Celebration of nursing.

THIS Friday, nurses and midwives from across Coventry and Warwickshire will come together for the second annual celebration event for International Nurses' Day and International Day of the Midwife.

The event will consist of a procession through Coventry city centre leading into a ceremony at Coventry Cathedral.

The event will be attended by nurses and midwives from Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust, University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust and student nurses and midwives from Coventry University.

Mandy Braimbridge, assistant director of nursing for Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, said: "Last year was the first time NHS nurses and midwives from across Coventry and Warwickshire came together to celebrate International Nurses' Day and International Day of the Midwife. It was an incredibly uplifting and inspirational event which left everyone feeling extremely proud of their profession."
