Caught by short and curlers.

HAVE-A-GO hairdresser Mandy Jones-Hackett has been hailed as a heroine after flooring a sneak thief.

Mandy, who works at DY8 Designs in Market Street, Stourbridge, sprang into action when she discovered the crook at the back of the shop trying to steal three handbags belonging to staff.

She tackled the thief to the floor and retrieved the bags, containing cash and mobile phones.

Mandy, who also recovered cameras which had earlier been stolen elsewhere, has now appealed to other shopkeepers in Stourbridge to be on the alert against opportunist thieves. A woman, aged 37, was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft and has been released on bail until a later date.
