Catty Corner to reopen under new ownership.

Byline: Stacy Wescoe

The Catty Corner Restaurant & Bar at 301 Mulberry St. in Catasauqua had been closed for about a year-and-a-half.

But under the ownership of local businessman Jay Cimerol and his son, Tyler, the Catty Corner is expected to reopen by late October.

"I used to go there when it was open. I thought it was always a good business," Jay Cimerol said.

One small change will be to the name. The Cimerols are adding pizza to the menu of traditional American cuisine and pub fare, and so the new name will be Catty Corner Neighborhood Pub and Pie.

Aside from that Jay Cimerol said they will be "cleaning up the place" and changing the dcor to focus on the history of Catasauqua, including imagery of its industrial heritage and local sports programs.

Cimerol said the Catty Corner, which is located in a 100-year-old building and had been known as the Catty Corner since the 1980s, always had a good reputation and he hoped to bring that back in its new incarnation.

Tyler Cimerol, who has experience in the restaurant industry will run the kitchen and bar.

The two-story building also has seven rooms on the second floor, which are rented out on a weekly basis.

Jeff Barber of Lehigh Financial Group LLC in Allentown arranged for a private bridge loan for the Cimerols to purchasethe licence license, equipment, furniture and fixtures.Settlement took place September 13.

The purchase of the real estate is expected at a later date.View the full article from Lehigh Valley Business at http://www.lvb.com/article/20180919/LVB01/180919828/catty-corner-to-reopen-under-new-ownership. Copyright 2018 BridgeTower Media. All Rights Reserved.
