Catrin may care for new Bond theme.

WELSH singer Cat Southall is hoping she might be in line to sing the theme tune for the next Bond film which is based on the Sebastian Faulks' novel Devil May Care.

Faulks' Cold War-era novel was written to mark the centenary of Bond Creator Ian Fleming's birth.

Penguin held an open competition to write a theme for the audio book version and the winning song, titled Devil May Care, was written and performed by Aberdare-born Southall now living in Cardiff, above, and Lee 'Noog' Lavis.

"It would be amazing if that happened," said the 32-year-old.

"Even if they used the song without me singing on it, using another vocalist, then that would still be huge."

The screenplay for Bond 24 - the working title of the next instalment - is currently being written by John Logan, and will reunite Daniel Craig with director Sam Mendes. It is expected to be released in October 2015.

Southall's new single One Day At A Time is out on October 28.
