Catherine loses out to a computer.

CATHERINE Zeta Jones, right, may demand a queenly sum for appearing in a film, but her latest Hollywood project is using state-of-the-art cost-cutting technology.

It seems that movie makers DreamWorks are using computers in a bid to save money. Giving twice the performance and costing half the amount of the old animation machines, the system will be used on the forthcoming film Sinbad, starring the voices of Jones, Brad Pitt and Michelle Pfeiffer.

STEREOPHONICS' singer Kelly Jones gave some unexpected support to a little known band at a gig in London's Camden Monarch last week. The Welsh star got on stage with Casino to sing a cover version of The Beatles' Don't Let Me Down, giving the new kids on the block a huge publicity boost. Maybe they should have sang With A Little Help From My Friends instead.
