Cathay Pacific to offer bed/seats and TVs in retractable arms in First Class.


Cathay Pacific Airways' (CPA) Boeing 747-400 aircraft will start featuring new First Class cabins with seats that turn into beds and TV's with retractable arms.

CPA plans to offer the new First Class cabins on all of its nightly flights from Los Angeles and New York to Hong Kong by 30 April.

Passengers can enjoy seats that can be adjusted to full length beds with duvets, pillows and 'sleeper pyjamas' provided. In terms of entertainment a 10.4 inch personal television with nine channels and a personal cinema is provided that is mounted onto a retractable arm to allow adjustments.

CPA expects to have its whole fleet of Boeing 747-400s fitted with the First Class cabins by August 2000.
