PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project involved major mechanical and electrical rehabilitation of two lock and dams on the Mississippi River. They were in need of modernization to ensure continued reliable navigation. The objectives of this project were to replace worn out miter gate machinery, all power distribution equipment, all wire and cable, all, instrumentation and controls, install a new SCADA system, upgrade/replace project lighting systems, move all electrical equipment above the 500-year flood level and abate all hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, mercury and PCB's used in the original construction.
