Catch a bite...and some Pokemon!


ARE you out playing Pokemon GO all the time but find yourself starting to feel peckish? The game has taken Teesside by storm, with thousands of players taking to the streets in order to find rare Pokemon.

And you'll either have been playing it or have been dragged out by the kids to go for a wander as they hunt for some high-level monsters.

But what happens when you're out and about and start to feel hungry? Well, these are nine places to eat at some Pokemon GO hotspots on Teesside to help keep your energy up before you go back out.

Middlesbrough Mima Cafe: Centre Square, TS1 2AZ.

What to eat: Cake! Pokemon: Mr Mime, Jynx, Eevee, Starmie and even the odd Vaporeon - with all the lures on all day, you'll have no problem catching something high-level.

Central Park: 337 Linthorpe Road, TS5 6AA.

What to eat: A parmo obviously! They even do veggie parmos just in case you don't like meat.

Pokemon: If you're lucky then you can get Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Dragonair and even Clefable!

Woodlands Concept Barbers & Coffee Bar: Linthorpe Road, TS1 2JZ.

What to eat: Fresh quiche and salad is a winner but so too is the whopper of a breakfast that includes pancakes, bacon and fruit. Pokemon: Loads of Paras, Pigetotto and even the odd Abra. The Olde Young Tea House: Grange Road, TS1 2LS What to eat: Cakes, cupcakes and scones... what more could you ask for? Pokemon: Nothing too rare but you can catch a good number of Horsea, Hypno, Eevee and even the odd Jigglypuff. Dickens Inn: 4 Southfield Road, TS1 3BZ. What to eat: Parmo or a burger are safe choices but the lasagne is a winner.

Pokemon: It really does depend, you can catch anything from a Rattata right up to a Dragonair or Onyx if you're lucky.

Redcar Stray Cafe: Coast Road, TS10 3RA. What to eat: The ice creams are cracking and a good way to cool off after all your Pokemoning Pokemon: Kabutops, Growlithe, Seadra, Dodrio, Porygon... you name it! If you fancy a bit of a walk to the Zetland park/roundabout, you'll find Kadabra and loads of Dragon types.

Saltburn Oscars Fish & Chips: Seafront, TS12 1HQ. What to eat: Fish and chips...duh.

Pokemon: Reports of Gyarados, Dragonair, Onix and Vaporeon spawning along the seafront.

Stockton Cafe Briscoe: 9 Finkle Street, TS18 1AR.

What to eat: Pie, mushy peas and chips if you're feeling a bit old school but the homemade cakes and milkshakes are great as well.

Pokemon: A mixed bag in Stockton, with reports of Electabuzz, Dragonite, Kabutops and everything in between.

Hartlepool Mary Rowntrees: York Place, TS24 0QR, short walk from St Hilda's Church. What to eat: Paninis, parmos and afternoon tea are all favourites - the Sunday dinner is top-notch as well Pokemon: If you've been to the Headlands you'll know... Really high-level. Lapras, Gengar, Machoke, Dragonite, Gyarados.
