Cat halts jet flight.

A PLANE was grounded for a day while staff tried to catch a stowaway cat.

The Boeing 777 was on its way to Manchester from Pakistan when the animal was spotted.

It vanished again and was nowhere to be seen when the plane touched down at 2.45pm on Friday. Staff spent 20 hours trying to nab the cat before a vet eventually cornered it.

The aircraft had to be fumigated and the Pakistan International Airways' return flight was delayed by 24 hours. The cat is in quarantine.

A witness said: "It managed to crawl into an area between the cargo bay and passenger area."
