Castelle introduces integrated network printing and wireless access device.
California-based Castelle has launched LANpress 2P/Wireless, its new server appliance that combines a 2-port print server and an IEEE 802.11b-compliant wireless access point.
As an access point for the wireless network, the product is designed to offer secure, high-speed access to e-mail, the Internet and other network resources. When used as a print server the appliance's two parallel ports and multiple protocol support will give LAN and wireless users shared access to printers, enabling documents to be printed simultaneously from either a wireless or 10/100BaseT connection.
The multiple operation systems support includes Windows 95/98/Me/2000/NT, Mac OS, Netware and Unix. In addition the product features management tools such as a web-based set-up utility and support for Hewlett-Packard's JetAdmin software.
LANpress 2P/Wireless is available immediately, priced at USD395.
