Cashing in with a family fortune.
What is it about the words "Irish sensation" that makes you draw breath in anxiety? Sure, there's always U2, but Boyzone are only a male '90s equivalent of the Nolan Sisters. Perhaps kissing the Blarney Stone destroys your chance of being cool.
So, just when you thought Irish pop couldn't get any more commercially slick and sanitised, this wholesome family foursome of sensible and earnest young people explode on the scene - The Corrs.
Sisters Andrea, Caroline and Sharon have the kind of drop dead gorgeous looks that might have earned them the name The Phwoarrs. They are indeed something of a record industry dream come true. Even brother Jim isn't bad looking, if you like that kind of thing.
Their second album Talk On Corners went to number one and the single What Can I Do? achieved similar success shortly afterwards. Now they have landed two major advertising deals - one for Lloyd's Bank is worth a six figure fee, while a new ad for Pepsi next year will net a cool million. You can make your own mind up about The Corrs when they visit London this week.
