Cash prizes,letters distributed among police officials.

LAHORE -- All officials of the Punjab Police are respectable who put their lives in danger for protection of lives and properties of people besides facing challenges against heinous criminals.

Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi said this during a cash prize and appreciation letters ceremony held here at central police office on Wednesday.

The IG Punjab said the Punjab police were transforming itself into a reformed police and all its systems had been digitized.

The procurement of items at any scale and their distribution had been computerized. Strict internal accountability was also going on in the department without any leniency in this regard.

The process of accountability will be implemented across province irrespective of designation and rank. In a ceremony held for IGP complaint centre 8787, the IGP said that 141,000 complaints had been received since inception of this cell and out of these around 136,000 complaints had been resolved whereas others were under process.

Likewise, in the first three months of this year almost 15,544 complaints received and out of these so far 11,045 complaints had been successfully resolved registering 1,506 FIRs including serious crimes.

Center and Prime Minister portal besides extending working hours of 8787 complaint cell and soon it will work 24/7.

As many as 39 officers and officials, including six female employees, have been awarded with cash prizes worth 390,000 rupees. Three officers from PITB were also given Commendation Certificates.

The second ceremony was held in the honour of brave, industrious, diligent, dutiful officers and officials who showed the best performance in fighting against heinous crimes and arresting proclaimed offenders involved in crimes of dacoity, murder, abduction.

In the ceremony, the officials were encouraged for laying their lives for safety of public.

Collectively 51 officials from eight districts were distributed cash prizes worth Rs 1690,000 along with the appreciation letters.

The amount of Rs 755,000 was distributed among 20 officials of Hafiz Abad, Rs 435,000 among 13 officials of Khushab, Rs 135,000 distributed among five officials of Okara, Rs 160,000 distributed among three officials of Multan, Rs 45,000 distributed among three officials of Faisalabad, Rs 100,000 distributed among three officials of Gujrat, one official from Sahiwal was given Rs 50,000 and two officials of central police office was awarded cash prize of Rs 10,000.

Additional IGs, DIGs and other senior police officers were also present.
