Cash boost for stroke charity.

A CHARITY in Newcastle which aims to help young stroke survivors has been given a cash boost.

Different Strokes North East, which meets two times a week to participate in exercise classes that help to reduce the disabilities brought on after a stroke, has received a PS300 donation from the Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund.

The group's treasurer Lisa Charlton said: "This donation from the GALAXY Hot Chocolate Fund couldn't have come at a better time. We would like to take some of our younger stroke survivors to a local activity centre next Spring, however, as we are a non-profit organisation raising the funds is a big challenge.

"With this donation we can now afford to take 25 members to the centre where they can spend a day going out on the river, wall climbing, practicing archery and having a go on the specially adapted bikes."
