Cash bid raiders target Post Office.
THESE pictures show the aftermath of an attempted early-hours break-in at a Wirral Post Office.
Burglars attempted to steal money from a cash machine during failed bid.
Officers were called to the Post Office on Fender Way, Prenton, at about 4.30am yesterday.
When they arrived at the post office, they discovered that the offenders had forced their way into the store and attempted unsuccessfully to force open the cash machine.
It is believed they escaped in a darkcoloured estate car.
Inspector Siobhan Gainer said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have
seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the Post Office in the early hours of Sunday morning, or in the week leading up to the attempted burglary, to come forward, as information they have could be vital to our inquiries."
| Anyone who may have information which could help police with their inquiries should contact Wirral CID on 0151 777 2265 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
