Carr motors to victory Trials.

Byline: MARTIN NEAL

ON a cold, but glorious day, AM Ossa rider James Carr won the Premier class at Guisborough DMC's Easter Trial at Charltons.

He finished just one mark ahead of young Richard Sadler.

But it was Youth A winner Dan Peace who stole the show.

A first lap five on the river section of nine dropped him off the pace, but he produced a teriffic fightback from this to record best score of the day.

Carr had a nightmare on the narrow angled log of six, where he lost all his marks.

Sadler dropped seven there as Peace proved best of the lot on three, producing two superb cleans.

Lee McGee from Guisborough upped his game in readiness for the Scottish Six Day Trial in May, winning the intermediate class from Paul Baxter, while Alistair Jackson, aboard a 30-year-old Twin Shock Honda, put together a perfect ride to stay unpenalised -the first time he has done so.

He held off a strong challenge from another superbly prepped old bike, the Montesa of Ian Atkinson from Carlton, to finish two marks ahead.
