Carlsberg supports Manhattan benefit

Young professional volunteers attending this year's Manhattan Society multiple sclerosis fundraiser aboard the World Yacht's "New Yorker," were treated to the taste of Denmark with Carlsberg beer.

As the official beer sponsor of the Society's "Night of a Thousand Chances," held March 15, Carlsberg provided drink samples to the more than 1,000 attendees of the fourth annual casino event.

Last year's event raised more than $140,000 to benefit the estimated 10,000 New Yorkers with multiple sclerosis, and this year's gala was expected to draw $150,000. To reach the goal, the Manhattan Society, which is a volunteer fundraising auxiliary of the New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, attempted to decrease overhead expenses by securing product donations, such as the Carlsberg.

"Through this donation, Carlsberg salutes the efforts of the young professionals represented by the Manhattan Society for their efforts to improve the lives of those New Yorkers with multiple sclerosis," said Martin Lenzberg, the New York representative for Carlsberg.
