Carl Willgoose, health educator.

APHA member Carl E. Willgoose, FACHE, ACSW, CPHQ, CMQ/OE, a retired professor emeritus of education and coordinator of health education at Boston University, died in July at age 91.

He taught at Syracuse University, the State University of New York at Oswego, Temple University and Boston University, with visiting professorships at Colorado College, the University of Colorado and the University of Florida.

Willgoose had a commitment to promoting healthy living, especially among youth, and authored 18 college textbooks. He was past president and charter fellow of the American Association for Health Education and a founding member of the American College of Sports Medicine.

An environmentalist and conservationist, he authored the book "Environmental Health: Commitment for Survival."
