Caring Poppy gets her Christmas wish.

A KIND-HEARTED little girl says her Christmas wish is to help feed Liverpool's homeless.

Six-year-old Poppy Crilly took to the city's streets with her family and friends and gave out food, toiletries and warm clothing to men and women sleeping rough.

Poppy's mum Lyndsey, 37, said: "At such a young age, Poppy has thought about others and I think that's just wonderful.

"At first, she was a bit daunted at the prospect but the homeless men and women made such a fuss of her and thanked her for her generosity."

" Like lots of other parents at this time of year, Lyndsey asked her daughter what she would like Father Christmas to bring her on December 25.The Crosby youngster replied that she would like to help feed people less fortunate than her.

So, on Monday night, Lyndsey, Poppy and her sister Daisy, 14, and brother James, 9, along with a gang of friends, got wrapped up and gave out 35 food and essentials packs to men and women on city streets including Bold Street and Mathew Street.

Lyndsey said: "It was a really emotional thing to do but we've all taken so much from it, and we'll do it again."
