Carefree living at the French Quarters in Tara.

If you want to talk to the builder of The French Quarters at Tara, you may have to visit the construction site. John Dukovac, company owner of La Maison, is a hands-on builder. His customers have found him on the job site late at night, on holidays and first thing in the morning.

"There's no secret to building a good home," he says. "It's paying attention to detail. That's why I'm out there in the field as the houses are being built."

In the area for six years after relocating from a successful construction business in Northern Ontario, Dukovac is already receiving recognition -- and awards -- for his Florida designs and energy efficiency. He has built numerous homes in some of Sarasota and Manatee counties' newest developments, including Mote Ranch, Tara, Creekwood, Lionshead, Manatee Oaks, Lake Sarasota, Siesta Key and Snead Island.

La Maison is a custom builder, using in-house staff to create all of its unique designs. Paul Yarusso, Karen Hoskinson and Kitty Span design your custom home from conception to working drawings. Customers rave about the company's willingness and ability to design exactly what they want. La Maison offers preliminary drafting service at no extra cost or obligation; interior decorating service is also available. Dukovac and his superintendents personally inspect each job site daily to insure accuracy and quality workmanship. Sales and marketing for La Maison is handled by Crescant Beach Properties, owned by Tom Sprinkle. Highly professional sales consultants guide each client through the delicate process of designing and building their dream home.

The French Quarters in Tara will be one of La Maison's finest projects yet. Set on some of the most beautiful acres in this elegant golf course community. The French Quarters will be an enclave of 25 carefree homes on a quiet cul-de-sac. Each home will face either a nature preserve or the lovely 14th fairway of Tara's championship golf course. And most of all, each home will offer the luxurious privacy of a single-family home -- including an attached garage -- with the ease of carefree living.

In The French Quarters, the homes have been designed with a contemporary Florida feel -- pale-colored stucco, tile roofs and lots of arches. Inside are ceramic tile floors, high ceilings, quality appliances and a standard Jacuzzi tub in each master bath.

The residents of The French Quarters will be equity members of one of the area's most inviting communities. Tara offers a challenging 18-hole golf course, lighted tennis courts, a heated swimming pool, exercise room and sauna, and a lovely plantation-style clubhouse with pro shop, dining room and plenty of activities.
