Careers in mind.

FIVE of the region's future rugby stars are knuckling down at Newcastle College.

The college's Lifestyle Academy is training five members of Newcastle Falcons' senior academy team in fitness instructing.

Cameron Johnstone, Eni Gasinde, Adam Daharty, Mathew Fieldhouse and Gavin Beasley are being put through their paces in a two-week course.

The CYQ Certificate in Fitness Instructing aims to give new skills to sports students, in this case so the Falcons players have the correct coaching qualifications to stay in rugby once their playing careers are over.

Cameron said: "It is important that we have qualifications so we can further our careers in years to come."
