Career Fair to open today.
Over 140 exhibitors are participating in this year's edition of Qatar's biggest career event, which will run till April 6 Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of QCF Khalid Abdullah al Sulaiteen said that reports from the 2012 edition suggest a stronger performance from participating companies compared to 2011 and 2010.
"The results indicate that over 9,290 job opportunities were successfully fulfiled across the education, employment, training and development categories in the key sectors. In 2011, this number was just over 5,560, which could have been partially due to lower disclosure of results from participating companies, and almost 4,280 in 2010," he said.
According to him, the finding was based on data submitted by companies
that participated in the fair last year.
Sulaiteen added that the fair's success should not be based on the employment opportunities only, rather, it should be valued based on the development in the education and training sectors.
