Caravans? Just Lynam all up...
Byline: IAN HYLAND
BBC2's quirky Caravanner Of The Year provided lots of insights into a much-maligned world.
For a start, it possibly revealed what Des Lynam's been up to since he cut back on the TV work (changed his name to John and bought a lovely 1963 Cheltenham Waterbuck, by the looks).
Perhaps its greatest achievement, though, was in providing this snapshot of what a long and happy marriage looks like.
David: "I think I'm going to have to go to the toilet."
David's wife of 44 years, Anne: "Open the window."
Aw. Love is in the (fresh) air.
PS. Late query re this programme's assistant producer, Didi Hand.
Was she named in tribute to Jeremy Beadle?
