Car used for haul.

INTRUDERS who broke into a Nuneaton house used the family's car to make their getaway.

Police say the burglars took the keys to the family's Rover 25 parked outside and loaded it with their haul of stolen electrical items and jewellery before driving away.

The car was later found dumped in the gateway to a field off nearby Arbury Road.

The burglary took place at a house in Hampton Avenue, after a downstairs window was forced some time between 6pm on Saturday and 9.15am on Sunday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary, or anyone who saw the car, a blue Rover, being driven away and abandoned off Arbury Road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Andrew Holloway at Nuneaton police station on 024 7664 1111, voicemail 10799.
