WITNESSES have told how they heard a loud bang as a car smashed into a charity shop.
Passers-by rushed to help the elderly woman who was behind the wheel of a black Vauxhall Corsa which was involved in a collision with a silver taxi on Marine Road in Pensarn at around 5.30pm on Saturday.
The moment leading up to the accident was captured on CCTV cameras at Jacko's store which is run by Biren Patel.
He heard a "big noise" and rushed to see what had happened and found the Corsa had ploughed into Arc Communties shop.
"I heard a very big noise. I came here and saw a silver car stopped on the road and then I saw a black car inside the shop". Mr Patel said.
"The driver, an old lady, was in shock.
She was very, very shocked and someone called for the police and they came and did some investigating."
Robert Tipton lives above the charity shop and also heard a bang and commotion.
He said: "I didn't see anything but I heard the accident as I live above here. I was just tinkering on the PC and I heard the sound of a car slipping on a wet road and a thump and a bang which was when it hit this thing (the shutters). It was quite loud and it did wake me up. It gave me a surprise."
Mr Tipton told how passers-by rushed to help the driver following the incident.
Another witness Kieran Jones told how he looked outside to see the car crashed through the shutters of the building causing damage to the shopfront.
Pictures show the shutters of the store have buckled due to the impact of the collision. Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured in the accident.
