Trafficwas held after a car hit the central reservation in a two-vehicle crash on theM3 southboundnearLightwateron Sunday (June 10).

There was stationary traffic on the motorway due to a two-vehicle crash, which caused one lane to be blocked.

Travel service Inrix said: "Lane three (of three) is blocked by the accident after one of the cars involved collided with the central reservation. Emergency services are at scene dealing."

Surrey Police,Surrey Fire and Rescue ServiceandSouth East Coast Ambulance Serviceall attended the incident.

Images show traffic being funnelled down to lane three on the motorway but emergency services coned off the other lanes while they dealt with the situation.

The incident happened between Junction 2 M25 and Junction 3 Lightwater at approximately 4.10pm

Less than an hour after the collision, traffic was released but left one lane closed as emergency services continued to assess the situation.
