Car dealing in comfort.
VISITING a car dealer via your own TV and from the comfort of your own sofa could become a reality by next spring after the unveiling by Honda of its ``The Honda Dealer of the future'' pilot scheme.Viewers watching a Honda advertisement on an interactive TV will be able to press the red button and then, from a list of options, be able to choose to talk live to a dealer who will appear on the television screen. The dealer can show them round the car, discuss options, technicalities and price and then, if the viewer wants, book a test drive.
Simon Thompson, head of marketing at Honda, says: ``The beauty of this service is that there is no set path for the consumer. ''
Honda claims the system is a first for any car manufacturer.
