Car bomb attack leaves 8 wounded in Baghdad.

BAGHDAD, July 6 (VOI) Co Eight civilians were wounded when a car bomb ripped through northeastern Baghdad on Sunday, a spokesman for the Baghdad security operations command said.

"The explosive vehicle, parked by unidentified people on the main road in the area of al-Shaab, northeastern Baghdad, went off on Sunday causing different wounds to eight civilians," Maj. General Qassem Atta told Aswat al-Iraq Co Voices of Iraq Co (VOI).

"Security forces sealed off the area while the wounded were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment," he added.

In a related incident, Atta said that Iraqi security forces managed to defuse another car rigged with explosives in the same spot.
