Captain is sent home.

A royal Navy captain has been sent home following a complaint from a junior officer.

Commander David Axon was relieved of his command of warship HMS Somerset which was on its way back to Britain after a tour of duty in the Gulf.

Cmdr Axon, in his 40s, is under investigation over allegations of bullying and intimidation on the ship, which was in Gibraltar when he was ordered to leave.

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said Cmdr Axon, from Southsea, had been recalled as a result of an equal opportunities investigation.
