Captain Scooby 'should be bang there' RACE OF THE DAY.

12.10 Southwell 32Red Handicap (Div I) 6f On ATR Card page 26 **Key stat Barry McHugh and Richard Fahey are 6-10 when joining forces at Southwell this season for a level-stakes profit of pounds 25.58. They team up with Sir Louis **What they say Richard Guest, trainer of Bravo King and Captain Scooby "Bravo King is in good form but he disappointed last time when we took him all the way to Ffos Las. It's his first run at Southwell, which is like Marmite - they either love it or hate it. We are hopeful rather than confident. Captain Scooby is by Captain Rio, whose progeny have a great record on Fibresand. He ran well over five furlongs there last time and if he gets the extra furlong I expect him to be bang there."

Mark Brisbourne, trainer of Rowan Spirit "Our division of the race looks a lot tougher than the other one. He's gone up 3lb for being second there last time and never runs a bad race. We have a solid chance of making the frame."

John Spearing, trainer of Equuleus Pictor "He disappointed over course and distance last time and I don't know why. He has winning form on the surface but this race does have a competitive look to it."

John Balding, trainer of Sleepy Blue Ocean "It looks as though we are in the stiffer division of the race but he knows his way round Southwell and has a squeak from a good draw."

Kevin Ryan, trainer of Oldjoesaid "He's in good form but it depends which Oldjoesaid turns up."

Alan McCabe, trainer of Il Battista "He's something of a course specialist and his two-year-old form at the track was excellent. It's a better race than he won last time but he has a good chance of following up."

Ian Williams, trainer of Tourist "It's good prize-money but it's a competitive race. It will be interesting to see how he gets on as we haven't run him on the surface before."
