Capriccio Ensemble performing at lunch concert.

THE Emmanuel Lunchtime Concert on Thursday, March 21, is the traditional chamber music festival by the Capriccio Ensemble with Clare Pitchford and Eleanor Graff-Baker on violin, Liz Paling on viola, John Bean on cello, and Jeremy Kimber on piano.

They will perform two contrasting Piano Quintets. Contemporary British composer, Jonathan Dove's Piano Quintet was written ten years ago and has a particularly lively final movement. Dohnanyi's Piano Quintet in C minor, Opus 1, brims with singable melodies and has a piano part worthy of a concerto!

Not bad for a composer's first published work.

The concert begins at 12.45pm at Emmanuel Church, Forest Road, Loughborough. A soup and roll lunch will be served from noon. For further information contact 01509 261773 or www.facebook.com/emmanuelconcerts
