Capital police register 512 cases in eight months.

ISLAMABAD -- Capital police registered 512 cases during last eight months of this year and majority of them were reported in theft category.

Of the total cases registered in all 22 Police Stations in Federal Capital during the period, 62 cases of murder were registered, 257 cases of theft, 92 cases of snatching and 101 cases of robbery were reported.

A data showing Police Stations-wise details of cases registration on Sunday said in Margalla Police Station 29 cases were registered during the period which included one nature of murder, 19 theft, two snatching and seven cases of robbery, in Tarnol Police Station 27 cases were registered during the period which included six murder, seven theft, six snatching and eight cases of robbery while Golra police station registered 39 cases during the period and these included six murder, 22 theft, five snatching and six cases of robbery.

Similarly, Sabzi Mandi Police Station registered 37 cases during the period which included four murder, 14 theft, nine snatching and 10 cases of robbery, Industrial Area Police Station registered 35 cases which included two murder, 20 theft, eight snatching and five cases of robbery, Lohibher Police Station registered 24 cases which included one murder, 13 theft, five snatching and five cases of robbery while the number of cases registered in Kohsar Police Station was 22 which included two murder, 14 theft, four snatching and two cases of robbery.

Moreover, the data said Aabpara Police Station registered 12 cases during the period which included two murder, seven theft, two snatching and one case of robbery, Secretariat Police Station registered six cases which included one murder, three theft, one snatching and one case of robbery, Sihala Police Station registered 28 cases which included three murder, 14 theft, four snatching and seven cases of robbery and Koral Police Station registered 35 cases and these included nine murder, 13 theft, six snatching and seven cases of robbery.

In Nilore Police Station, 12 cases were registered during the period which included three murder, two theft, four snatching and three cases of robbery, in Shehzad Town Police Station 18 cases were registered which included two murder, seven theft, five snatching and four cases of robbery, in Bhara Kahu Police Station 28 cases were registered which included six murder, 18 theft and two each cases of snatching and robbery, Women Police Station registered seven cases during the period in category of theft and Shalimar Police Station registered 28 including two murder, 18 theft, four each cases of snatching and robbery.

Similarly, in Ramna Police Station 26 cases were registered which included four murder, 16 theft, two snatching and four cases of robbery, in Bani Gala Police Station 10 cases were registered including two murder, five theft, one snatching and two cases of robbery, in Khanna Police Station 28 cases were registered including four murder, seven theft, seven snatching and 10 cases of robbery, in Shams Colony Police Station 12 cases were registered including five theft, three snatching and four cases of robbery, in Noon Police Station 31 cases were registered including two murder, 12 theft, 10 snatching and seven robbery while the number of registered cases in Karachi Company Police station was 18 which included 14 theft, two snatching and two cases of robbery.

Meanwhile, when contacted official sources said measures have been adopted to control crimes in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) which included Identification of Crime pockets, Crime Cluster Analysis, Establishment of Nakas, Data Base (survey of Kachi Abadies) and Intelligence Based Policing.

The other steps included Combing/Search Operations, Random checking of Guest, Houses/Hotel/Motel, General Hold-ups (Surprise Checking), Surveillance of suspected Elements and Data proofing of released prisoners.
