Capital's Zoo in pathetic condition despite heavy budget.
Islamabad -- 1.8 billion rupees annual budget of Federal government's zoo going in officers' pockets inspite of spending on animals.
Elephant handler could not be appointed for six months due to negligence of zoo administration, while elephant has been facing severe problems in food.
According to reports, millions of rupees worthy elephant near to death while a female elephant had died six months before due to improper care by officials of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Zoo depicting a scary shape by appointing inexperienced officials.
Thousands of visitors including children visit zoo on official or public holidays but have to return disappointedly.
According to details, elephant is surrounded by many diseases because of negligent behaviour of CDA's environment department. Elephant handler, Bilal was dismissed on allegations of corruptions from eatables of elephant and he is facing inquiries while inexperienced handler replaced him without sufficient knowledge ultimately elephant has left eating and sleeping which affected its health badly.
Sources told that administration had beaten the elephant many times but could not made it ready despite violence while other animals are also meeting the same fate in zoo.
