Canopus: new custom configurable editing stations.

In a move to broaden its line of powerful Realtime Editing Stations, Canopus Corporation has announced the RES-150 and the new RES Flex Series, a new line of custom configurable video editing workstations. Available later this month, these new workstations unite stability with cutting-edge CPU and digital video technology to provide a solid, stable foundation for video editing.

At the heart of the RES systems is the acclaimed DVStorm2, with hardware MPEG encoding and StormBay breakout box, to deliver unmatched realtime performance, including five simultaneous video streams, unlimited title and graphics layers, 3D effects, MPEG encoding and DV output. The RES systems also provide realtime color correction with waveform/vectorscope, variable speed control, the industry's leading DV chroma key, auto white balance, region filter, and more. Canopus has included an unrivaled collection of editing, compositing, effects and authoring software to make the Realtime Editing Stations powerful and cost-effective solutions for video professionals. Known for its stability, DVStorm2 brings maximum reliability, along with outstanding performance to the workstation market.

The RES-150, starting at $5,499, is powered by an Intel Pentium 4 3GHz processor with Hyper-Threading Technology, 1GB of DDR memory, a 40GB system drive and a 160GB disk array (for more than 10 hours of storage), an NVIDIA GeForce4 dual-monitor capable video card, a Pioneer DVD-R/RW drive and an ADS Tech PYRO three-port FireWire card to allow capture from three cameras simultaneously. The RES-150 comes with a professional software bundle, including Canopus StormEdit, Canopus Imaginate, Adobe Premiere 6.5, Adobe After Effects 5.5, Canopus Xplode Professional 4.0, Canopus PhotoAlbum2.0, Sonic Foundry Acid Style and a full version of Ulead DVD Workshop with AC3 encoding, to make this powerful editing system an excellent value.

To meet the growing needs of today's video professional, Canopus is offering the new custom-configurable RES Flex Series line of realtime editing workstations. A new configuration ordering system gives Canopus Authorized Partners the ability to tailor RES systems to their customers' needs. Whether editors need component video I/O, faster processors, increased AV storage or more memory, a RES Flex system can be custom built just for them. In addition to the realtime features and software found in the RES-150, advanced technology, such as dual Intel Xeon processors with Hyper-Threading Technology, Sonic Foundry Acid Pro 4.0 with Dolby Digital 5.1 channel surround mixing, Canopus ProCoder video transcoding tool and Boris FX are also included in the RES Flex Series, which starts at $6999.
