Canons Park stabbing witness saw youth 'running down the street with blade' after teen knifed; A 16-year-old male is being treated in hospital following the incident near Canons Park Underground station - his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A teenager is being treated in hospital for his injuries after beingstabbednear Canons Park Underground station on Sunday, September 8.

Police were called to the scene on Whitchurch Lane at about 7.45pm, where they found the 16-year-old male victim.

A worker from a nearby takeaway said a customer had reported seeing a youth "running down the street with a knife".

According to witnesses, he had beenknifedat the bus stop opposite the shops at Canons Park station.

The victim was then "taken over to the off licence for safety while he was bleeding out".

A witness added: "Paramedics attended the victim where the cash point was outside the off licence on the corner."

Another eye witness said they saw that " five kids ran to the street opposite Cannons Tandoori".

Police put a large cordon in place while officers carried out enquires.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "(The victim) was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a central London hospital for treatment.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening - there have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

"Any young people who have information about violence or knife crime can visit www.fearless.org where they can pass on information anonymously -- your IP address will not be traced.

"Fearless is part of the Crimestoppers charity and is also independent of the police."
