New i-Series Printers With Outstanding Photo Quality and Direct Print Capability

In addition to their sleek industrial designs, and excellent photo printing performance and value, all of the i-Series feature Canon's exclusive, advanced MicroFine Droplet Technology for very high reproduction of detail and fast print speeds. The i-series also support the Exif Print standard. Using Canon's exclusive Easy-PhotoPrint software, the printers are able to use recorded data from Exif Print-equipped digital cameras, including the new PowerShot models announced today, for truer reproduction of digital images. Photo Noise Reduction is also designed into the printer drivers for helping eliminate "noise" in digital camera images, for example, from areas of light solid colors such as blue skies, and dark areas such as shadows, for more realistic image reproduction.
The i450 and i470D have printing times of up to 18 pages per minute (ppm) in black and 12 ppm in color(1) with resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 color dpi(2). For outstanding photo detail, the print head on both printers dispenses both 5-picoliter and ultra-fine 2-picoliter droplets. Bubble Jet Direct printing on both models allow consumers to print photos with or without a computer by connecting select Canon digital cameras or camcorders directly to the printer and using the print functions built into the camera. True borderless, edge to edge printing in 4" x 6", 5" x 7" and 8.5" x 11" sizes combined with Canon's Photo Paper Pro or Photo Paper Plus Glossy media deliver excellent photo quality from digital images.
The i470D includes all of the features found on the i450 and adds direct printing support from most major digital camera memory cards available today. Included with the new operation panel of the i470D is the all-new Canon Photo Viewer that turns an attached computer monitor into a full screen photo viewer while using the easy operation panel of the printer to print the pictures.
The i9100 leads the way as Canon's flagship photo printer. It incorporates an ultra high-density multi-nozzle print head featuring 3,072 nozzles (the largest number of nozzles in its class) to achieve print speeds of approximately 37 seconds for a borderless 4" x 6" photo print, approximately one minute for 8" x 10" prints and approximately two minutes and thirty seconds for 13" x 19" prints. With six individual ink tanks, the i9100 also features the Canon Think Tank System for efficient and economical printing costs. New on the i9100 will be edge-to-edge borderless printing support for both 5" x 7" and 13" x 19" in addition to the 4" x 6" and 8.5" x 11" currently available.

Both scanners are USB 2.0 Hi-Speed compatible, with the 9900F also offering fast FireWire connection. The 3000F offers up to 9600 dpi resolution (enhanced) with over 281 trillion possible colors (maximum 48-bit) for great looking film or photo scans. The 9900F offers up to 3200 x 6400 dpi optical resolution, can batch scan up to 24 negative frames, and has a lightning fast 3-second preview when scanning photos.
The 3000F and 9900F feature automatic removal of dust and scratches with FARE technology (Film Automatic Retouching and Enhancement). FARE technology uses infrared light source to
