Cannonball Run races to Pendine.

Another classic motoring event is coming to Wales this summer with the Cannonball Run Europe set to whip up a storm at Pendine Sands.

Despite a forthcoming ban on vehicles on the beach at Pendine, a special licence has been granted so that 40 high-performance vehicles can shoot scenes for the forthcoming Cannonball Run feature film, Terminal Velocity.

This year's event, inspired by the 1981 film of the same name, will see 240 cannonballers travel 3000 miles across seven countries in just six days.

The directors of Terminal Velocity have chosen Pendine sands as a venue to film introductory shots and out-take scenes because of its

uninterrupted stretch of seven miles of sand.
