Cancer fight Lenny loses last battle.

Cancer battler Lenny Kirk, whose determination to see his daughter grow gave hope to scores of others, has lost his fight, his devastated family revealed today.

Mr Kirk, 48, died yesterday suddenly and unexpectedly.

Mr Kirk, of Ragpath Lane, Stockton, had been suffering from lung cancer but had undergone revolutionary treatment in the USA. Mr Kirk's wife Debbie had tracked down a specialist clinic run by Dr Gil Lederman at Staten Island, New York, via the Internet - and her husband was the first of many Teessiders to travel there for last hope treatment.
