Canadian title sold to Newcom Business Media.

Newcom Media Quebec (Montreal, PQ), a division of Newcom Business Media (Toronto, ON), has acquired "Logistics Magazine" (Mont Tremblant, PQ) from owner/ publisher Mark Duhamel. No terms of the six-figure deal were given.

Established in 1997, "Logistics: The Magazine for Logistics Planning" is published six times a year in both English and French for a controlled circulation of 8,500 French-language and 10,000 English-language logistics specialists, including professionals involved in procurement, distribution, purchasing, quality management and customer support.

The acquired title is designed to provide information and analysis on various products and services, as well as "detailed studies on many trends and techniques related to logistics," Newcom said. Recent issues include articles on: leadership and development of managers, warehousing and automation, robotics, rail transportation, optimization of logistics networks, RFID, the green supply chain, real-time monitoring, invoice processing, pharmaceutical production, and information systems.

Other Newcom titles include "Today's Trucking," HighwayStar," "Canadian Technician," "Truck & Trailer," "Transport Routier" and "Plumbing & HVAC Product News." Related magazines targeting the logistics market include "Global Logistics & Supply Chain Strategies" from Keller International Publishing (Great Neck, NY), "Inbound Logistics" from Thomas Publishing (New York), "Logistics Management" from Reed Business Information (Waltham, MA) and "RFID Product News" from ST Media Group (Cincinnati, OH), among others.
