Canadian government invests nearly CAD15m in airports of the North Shore and Schefferville.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2011 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

Transport Canada on Monday said that the Canadian government is investing close to CAD15m in six airports on the North Shore and Lower North Shore and in Schefferville.

Investments are said to be to keep the facilities safe and in operational condition whilst ensuring the efficent pursuit of airport activities.

The airports at Sept-Iles, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Natashquan, Chevery, Lourdes-de-Blanc-Sablon and Schefferville will receive investments to carry out projects and procure equipment.

Projects being achieved with the funding include replacement of service vehicles, procurement of equipment, installation of surveillance equipment and refurbishment.
