Canada to support education in Jordan.

Canada agreed to grant an additional C$20 million to finance the second phase of the Education Reform for Knowledge Economy Project in Jordan, said Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Ja'afar Hassan.

The minister told Program-Director of the North Africa and Middle East region in the Canadian International Development Agency CIDA, Vincent Le Pape, that the grant's memorandum of understanding will be signed soon.

They discussed a number of other issues including supporting the higher education, vocational training and upgrading community colleges in the Kingdom.

The Canadian official said his country would continue supporting and providing assistance to the Kingdom mainly in education and vocational training fields.

CIDA is a key donor of Jordan's Education Reform for Knowledge Economy (ERfKE) project which aims at remaking the country's education system.
