Canada : Solarflare Appoints New Technical Marketing Director to Spearhead Security Initiatives.

Solarflare, the leader in application-intelligent 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) networking software and hardware, today announced that Ron Miller has joined the company as Technical Marketing Director of Security.

Miller joins Solarflare with over 20 years of security experience. His prior experience includes serving as the Chief Security Scientist, Director of Engineering for Extreme Networks, where he led the technical direction of the company for all its security products, while managing the Emerging Products Division engineering group. Previously, Miller founded Mirage Networks, where he earned an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist Award. Miller has also held a number of management and operations roles for companies including StoredIQ and M5 Systems.

"As the volume of network data continues to proliferate in all corners of the world today, this creates new security challenges for global businesses and security agencies alike. I'm excited to be working closely with Solarflare's partners and customers to accelerate custom applications in the network as security challenges continue to evolve," said Ron Miller.

"We look forward to Ron's expertise and insights as we move forward into new strategic areas, continue to make inroads with our product lines and businesses, and continue to help our customers drive their network security strategies," said Russell Stern, CEO of Solarflare. "Specifically, Ron will be instrumental in introducing new and existing customers to security measures that take advantage of our ApplicationOnload Engine (AOE). The ability of the AOE to perform Active Distributed Security at any number of end points within the network promises to transform the way security applications are deployed and managed within critical networking environments."

In addition, the company has recently announced its AOE Ecosystem Partner Program, bringing together FPGA developers, design services, plus tools and IP block vendors to accelerate the creation and deployment of custom security applications for real-time network data application processing.
