Canada : HAWTHORNE-BASED SpaceX launches satellite into space for CANADIAN COMPANY.

A satellite into space for a Canadian company has been launched by the Hawthorne-based SpaceX, as part of a demonstration flight Sunday.

CASSIOPE, which is a mall satellite for the Canadian company MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd (MDA) has been launched by the SpaceX at 9:00 a.m. PDT Sunday morning.

It was launched the mission from Vandenberg Air Force Base, and is being used to prove a new Canadian small satellite bus design.

The payload included two payloads, consisting of Canada's first space environment sensor suite to collect data on space storms, and an experimental large capacity data transfer technology experiment.
