Canada : FUGRO GEOSURVEYS bags Supply Arrangement from CHS.

The Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) has awarded a Supply Arrangement to Fugro GeoSurveys, Canada, to deliver Airborne Lidar Bathymetry (ALB) survey services.

Primarily, CHS will make use of this Contract to procure ALB surveys, as needed anywhere in Canada, to support their nautical charting program particularly in shallow water areas, which are hard to access safely with vessel based systems. Moreover, ALB data can be utilized for different environmental applications in coastal and shallow waters areas.

Fugros ALB systems will be utilized to buy hydrographic survey data and seabed imagery in shallow coastal waters, where it is far more efficient and less risky than traditional vessel-based acoustic methods.

The Supply Arrangement prequalifies Fugro to deliver ALB survey services for the CHS anywhere in Canada during the coming 5 years. In the last two years, Fugro has successfully concluded several ALB survey projects across Canada comprising Newfoundland, Quebec and the Canadian Arctic.
