Canada,United States : US firm invests in CANADIAN hemp sector.

Canada s relaxed regulatory stance toward hemp might lead to a U.S. company investing in Alberta and Ontario.?

Sam Alawieh, a board member of Creative Edge Nutrition and executive director of Hemp Technologies, which Creative Edge re-cently purchased said, Canada has a remarkable regulatory advantage, and there s good land and climate for growing hemp. They ll not allow us to do this in the U.S. All you can do with hemp here is research and development for industrial hemp. ?

The firm intends to use hemp for its grain, pharmaceutical and fibre content. Farmers in Alberta and Ontario would be contracted for production.?

He said, We call it the hemp eco-complex. We want to maximize usage and compete with prices for corn and soybeans. ?

Other nation have hemp fibre industries as well, but developing a competitive processing technology been a huge challenge in North America.?

Hemp Technologies looks to combine technologies from across the world and add its own innovations to make it work. ?

Hemp fibre is used to make products as varied as building material, clothing and insulation.?
