Can you help me to find employment? FEEDBACK.

CURRENTLY, I find myself unemployed after a Christmas job lasting from October to December.

This was my first proper job since I left school three years ago, with excellent qualifications.

I thought it would be a springboard to better opportunities, but I'm now back to square one.

I'm not a lazy person, as I do voluntary work, and I have previously busied myself with courses from the Enterprise Centre to broaden my skill set.

Let me tell you how the cycle seems to be. I apply for jobs where advertised and have also put CVs in to what seems like every establishment in the city centre.

I have also followed up on requests to "apply online", and between these modes of application, I must have totalled well over 200.

I rarely get the decency of an acknowledgement, and only two companies have ever written to me to inform me that I have been unsuccessful.

Employers these days don't seem to care, my most recent example would be when I applied for a job in a local newsagent's in person after seeing an ad in the window.

In being proactive, I chased the application up, only to be told that there was an application form to fill in, and that the closing date had passed.

The employer didn't think or care to tell me, when I went in person, that this was required, so he must have known that I was effectively wasting my time, and wouldn't be in with a chance of even an interview.

If there are any retail employers who would like to give me a first chance of full-time work, it would be nice to hear from them, because I'm not sure the decency exists any more.
