Sensor processing and display solutions developer Cambridge Pixel announced on Tuesday that it has added audio and video capture, distribution and recording capability to its SPx software library, which includes software products for radar visualisation, radar video distribution, plot extraction and target tracking.

According to the company, the new SPx AV software provides a middleware layer for the development of client-server sensor distribution applications.

SPx AV software is a toolkit of components which supports a range of video and audio capture options. It includes compression, network streaming, latency and quality of service control, as well as real-time display of video with overlays, underlay and watermarks.

The software also supports decompression of H.264 video using graphics processors (GPUs) and can be used with the company's existing SPx radar software for multi-function sensor distribution and display solutions.
